How Does it Work?

When areas of the body have more fat than others - the thighs or stomach for example - there is typically inadequate blood supply to those areas. The Cryo STAR procedure begins by heating the subcutaneous fat cells, which increases blood flow and fluids to the area. After a few minutes, the treatment drops to cold temperatures, rapidly reducing blood flow and crystalizing the fluids to destroy fat cells. Fat cells are effectively destroyed in the target area, while smoothing the skin and without harming the surrounding tissueThe exact sequencing and modulation of temperatures and durations is specifically programmed for the targeted area of the body and the desired effect - fat reduction, skin lifting & firming, cellulite reduction for example. Using different size wands, the treatment can be performed for any part of the body or face.

How Many Cryo STAR Treatments Do I Need?

It depends largely on the area or areas that you would like to slim and tone. Some areas require more sessions, while others achieve optimal results in fewer sessions. Typically, though, you can expect between 5 -10 sessions combining both fat cell blasting and skin tightening/toning sessions to achieve significant transformation for a major area. By comparison, a lesser transformation on a smaller area may require only 1 - 3 sessions. During your free consultation, we will create a customized treatment plan that reflects your personal goals and priorities.

What Does the Treatment Feel Like?

The 45 - 60 minute treatments are non-invasive and painless. Most individuals find that it feels like a light massage. In fact, it’s not uncommon to fall asleep during the procedure!

How Often Can I Do Treatments?

Cryo STAR Slimming treatments to eliminate fat cells are best for the abdomen, love handles, underarms, bra line, glutes, chin, and inner/outer thighs. These slimming treatments can be performed every 2 weeks. Since the treated fat cells are evacuated through your lymphatic system and eventually pass through the kidneys, allowing 2 weeks between treatments ensures that your lymphatic system and kidneys are not overly taxed. Cryo STAR toning treatments can be performed every 2 - 3 days and are ideal for face, arms, legs, back, as well as abdomen and stomach.

Are There Side Effects?

Generally, no side effects are anticipated apart from increased urination over the several days following treatment. In some cases, there can be localized redness that disappears after a few hours. In rare cases, there can be localized pain that disappears after a few hours. In very rare cases, there can be muscle soreness from treatments on the stomach area due to unintentionally engaging the stomach muscles. This soreness is expected to disappear the same day.

Individuals suffering from severe kidney disease or on dialysis, have active cancer or are undergoing chemotherapy, have severe diabetes or are pregnant should not undergo Cryo STAR treatments. Individuals with an open abdominal hernia should not receive a Cryo STAR slimming treatment in that area.

You should wait 2 weeks following any neurotoxin injection, such as botox or Juvederm, and 4 weeks following any filler injections before receiving any Cryo STAR facial treatment.

how is cryo star t-shock different from coolsculpting?

Although both treatments use cryolipolysis to freeze and eliminate fat cells, there is a significant difference in how the treatments work and what they accomplish.

Cryo STAR T-Shock Combines Both Cryogenic and Thermal Shock Technologies

CoolSculpting uses a device that suctions to the treatment area, acting like a vacuum as it sucks excess fat up to freeze. Cryo STAR does not use freezing panel applicators or a vacuum process.  It rather uses a smooth wand to gently move over skin. It also uses both hot and cold currents to increase blood circulation, which helps the dead cells eliminate from the body more efficiently through lymphatic drainage.  Since CoolSculting uses only cooling technology, it cannot produce any of the benefits from alternating warm and cold thermal shock.

Cryo STAR T-Shock Treats More Areas Than CoolSculpting

Since CoolSculpting uses applicator pads, it is  not as effective at targeting smaller areas or detailed areas. With thermal power and a smaller want option, Cryo STAR T-Shock has much greater flexibility to treat all areas of the body and face.  Additionally, the static pads can be used on larger areas while the Cryo STAR T-Shock technician is simultaneously treating smaller areas, essentially giving you 2 treatments in a single session.

Cryo STAR T-Shock is Significantly More Cost Effective Than CoolSculpting

With each Cryo STAR session costing only $499 vs. the $2,000 – $4,000 per CoolSculpting session, the price difference between the treatments is substantial. The value of Cryo STAR becomes even greater when you consider that the same machine can do treatments on any area, and the treatment plan is a customized blend of slimming and sculpting that matches your body type and can be modified based on your personal response to treatment, and provides the additional benefits of skin rejuvenation and muscle strengthening.

CoolSculpting Can Have Side Effects

Since CoolSculpting uses applicator pads to suction the skin, it is not uncommon to experience pain, swelling and bruising. In some cases, these side effects can last a few weeks. CoolSculpting requires you to plan around the treatments to allow time for healing.
Cryo STAR treatments are pain free and require no recovery time. You can go about your normal routine without any disruption.
