Infrared Sauna

what is an infrared sauna?

Infrared Sauna uses far-infrared energy to directly heat the Skin, Tissue, and Muscles without dramatically warming the air. This means that 80% of the heat generated is directed to your body and only 20% to heating the air, increasing your core body temperature between 2-3 degrees.

“Once you heat the body on a cellular level and bring up your core temperature, your heart rate increases, blood circulation increases, and more oxygen is delivered to the cells, muscles, and joints”

Jourdan Rystrom, Director of SaunaBar in Los Angeles.

how is an infrared sauna different from a traditional sauna?

Traditional saunas work by heating the air around you to warm the surface of the skin, which then warms the underlying muscles and tissues. Too much time in a traditional sauna can cause heat-related exhaustion and dehydration. The average sauna can sit anywhere from 150˚F to 190˚F. Many people avoid traditional saunas because they can’t tolerate the extreme temperatures and humidity. But, an infrared sauna operates at lower temperatures between 120˚F to 140˚F and without creating humidity.

The bottom line is that you can spend more time enjoying all the health benefits and the relaxing experience, without the stifling hot steam!
